Directions

By Train

There are no railway lines in the area; the nearest train stations are Trento and Rovereto (check train timetables at www.trenitalia.it)

By bus

Trentino Trasporti Esercizio is the company that manages an extensive network of bus lines in the area (check bus timetables at www.ttesercizio.it).

By Car

From south

Arriving from the south, you can get to the Biosphere either on Motorway A22 "Brennero" (exit Rovereto Sud-Lago di Garda Nord or Trento Sud) or on Motorway A4 (exit Brescia). If you leave the motorway in Rovereto, take State Road SS 240 towards Riva del Garda; from there, you can either travel north towards Passo del Ballino and the Giudicarie on State Road SS 421 "Laghi Tenno e Molveno", or travel south-west towards the Ledro Valley on State Road SS 240. Instead, if you leave the motorway in Trento Sud, take State Road SS 45 to Sarche, then State Road SS 237 towards Ponte Arche.
If you arrive from Brescia, take State Road SS 45bis in direction Lago di Garda/Madonna di Campiglio; once in Tormini, take State Road SS 237 in direction Madonna di Campiglio; in Storo, you can either take State Road SS 240 towards the Ledro Valley and Riva del Garda, or go as far as Tione (where the Biosphere offices are located) and then turn east on State Road SS 237 (direction Trento) and reach Comano Terme.
A pleasant, panoramic - but often heavily trafficked - alternative is State Road SS 45bis "Gardesana occidentale", which runs along the western shore of Lake Garda.

From north

Arriving from the north, leave the motorway in Trento Nord, then take State Road SS 45bis as far as Sarche, and turn right on State Road SS 237 "del Caffaro", which will lead you to Comano Terme and Madonna di Campiglio. In alternative, you can leave the motorway in Rovereto Nord and then follow the directions to Riva del Garda.
Arriving from the north, you can also reach the Biosphere through the Paganella upland and Lake Molveno on State Road SS 421, or from Passo di Campo Carlo Magno on State Road SS 237 as far as Tione.
